The Lachine canal gets its name from the French word for China (La Chine) since European explorers thought they had found the route from New France to China. Built in 1821, it quickly became the epicenter of the industrial sector. Today, it is a wonderful green space to discover!
The Atwater Market was built as a public works project during the depression era. It has been a market since 1982. It’s a great place to find fresh and local produce!
