This interactive workshop will consist of guided reflection exercises where you will unpack an experiential learning (EL) activity to effectively describe what you’ve learned. This is especially useful to help you prepare for interviews, networking opportunities and to gain a deeper understanding of how you can apply your skills in different contexts.

By the end of this workshop you will be able to describe your EL experience to different audiences. This includes:

  • Describing what you enjoyed and what you disliked about the experience.
  • List the intended learning outcomes for the experience.
  • List the goals you met during the experience (and those you didn’t meet).
  • Identify transferable and/or technical skills you have developed.
  • Identify a challenge you faced and how you overcame it or developed a solution.
  • Describe how you applied knowledge gained from your program during the experience.

Experiential Learning is learning by doing. Through internship placements, industry challenges or volunteering, students connect theory to practice, develop key 21st century skills, and develop their professional networks. This has been proven to be one of the most effective ways to learn and to prepare for life after graduation.

This workshop is open exclusively to students at Concordia University.
