Using an intersectional lens, the goal of this session is to learn how body positivity, body neutrality and body liberation can help frame our relationship to our bodies.

Facilitator: Simone Samuels, body positivity trainer and senior DEI and racism consultant at York.

Simone incorporates a weight-neutral, body-positive fitness philosophy in her work with clients and students. As an equity, diversity and inclusion consultant, she applies and helps her students to apply an equity and inclusion lens and take a weight-neutral, body-positive approach to their fitness practice. She is a member of Fitness Professionals Against Weight Stigma (UK), a Board Member of the Body Positive Fitness Alliance (US) and a member of canfitpro's Advisory Panel. She was the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Reviewer of the new third edition of the canfitpro PTS manual, Instructor of the Year at Movati Athletic and was a Top 3 Finalist of the canfitpro Fitness Professional of the Year award. In her spare time, Simone also loves to write, garden, cook and eat!
