Professor pk langshaw will present on socio cultural environmental sustainability + making/materials in the Fines Arts with an emphasis on pedagogical approaches, resources and examples of student work.
Lecturer Alice Jarry and PT faculty Erwin Regler from SoFa (Sustainability on the Fine Arts sub committee) will present the committee’s mandate and activate a brainstorming session with the objective to design a best practices guide “CARE: Material and Process Considerations for Sustainability in Fine Arts”.

2:00 – 2:40 Emerging Artist Pamela Simard and CTC technician Tom Simpkins
Pamela will present the proposal, process and production of the unique office unit. Photos of the work in progress and technical plans will be shown to support the importance of sustainability as a series of ecological decisions and a state of mind that mandates commitment and fluid thinking. Tom Simpkins will introduce his contribution to the project as the woodshop CTC technician and what measures have been implemented and are in development in the CTC shops that support sustainable making and materials.
