In this 45-minute workshop designed for all ages, art teacher Navy Chadsey, BFA 17, will instruct you how to paint a bumblebee above flowers.
The painting is very beginner friendly, and taught in an untraditional way to achieve a painterly effect. We will be painting the background last, including scrunching up paper towel and dabbing it on the canvas to create clouds in the sky. This class is designed to remind you that there are no rules when it comes to painting!
Acrylic paint: black, white, yellow, blue (we will be mixing paint to make light blue)
A small canvas (approximately 8x10 inches) or a blank sheet of paper to paint on
One medium painting brush (approximately 1/2 an inch) and one small painting brush (approximately 1 cm)
A cup/container of water
A painting palette or plate
A few sheets of paper towel (for drying your brushes and dabbing clouds in the sky)
