The GameBling Game Jam is back! TAG, HERMES, and the JREN team are organizing the second edition on February 11 and 12, and we are looking for participants! This event will be held virtually.

What is a game jam?

A game jam is an event during which teams come together to design and prototype a game (or game idea) from scratch, around a common theme. We will meet over two days online, and present finished and unfinished games on Sunday, February 12, during a public playtest from 4 to 5 p.m..

What is the theme?

This year’s theme is (Un)Lucky! Please see the attached document for more information.

How does it work?

We will start each day with a short discussion about the day’s events, before splitting into teams. Teams will then decide how they want to work on their games and organize their work.

This is a no-crunch event. We strongly encourage participants to refrain from working past 5 p.m.. Full attendance is preferred, please discuss possible part time attendance with the game jam team.

I have never designed a game. Can I still participate?

Yes! You do not need any game-design or coding experience to participate. We will be sending participants links to helpful workshops, but you will also have the option to create boardgames, or choose-your-own adventure stories, etc.

What if you don't have a team?

No problem! We will be facilitating team formation before the jam starts, based on common interests. Student participants will receive a $300 bursary.

Spots are limited! Registration is required.
