Ubaka Ogbogu, Associate Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Alberta
How do health, human rights, and pandemic restrictions relate in the Canadian context? Under what conditions can governments restrict our rights for public health? Are measures such as lockdowns, curfews and taxes on the unvaccinated constitutional and consistent with human rights principles?
Ubaka Ogbogu (Associate Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Alberta) will tackle such questions, in a conversation on the relationship between health, human rights and pandemic restrictions.
Nicole De Silva (Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Concordia University) will moderate the discussion, with plenty of opportunities for questions from the audience.
All are welcome to join. Zoom meeting ID: 876 2541 0729.
This event is organized as part of the Department of Political Science's Human Rights Speaker Series.
