The electricity system is a major part of the modern energy system as we know its importance is set to grow in the future. This growth is driven in part by the relative ease with which large volumes of variable renewable energy resources can be integrated into the electricity system. O’Malley will compare his experiences around the world in order to guide Canadians through “the multidisciplinary maze” of establishing their own integrated energy systems in this ICUF James Flaherty Lecture.
