Whether it’s because of deepfakes, ransomware, or managing a public health crisis, we all learned to speak “data” in the last few years.
In law firms, data governance has emerged as a popular discussion with clients largely due to the use of data-hungry predictive algorithms in technological developments, which brought data acquisition into the scope of intellectual property audits, such as prior for a merger and acquisition.
More than privacy, but without clear legal parameters, data governance is often discussed, but rarely understood.
In this conference, our guest speaker, Me Vanessa Henri, will answer key questions in relation to data governance, covering some of the most fascinating applied legal challenges regarding data as corporate assets:

Me Vanessa Henri, a data governance lawyer at Fasken, specializes in technological development. She works with emerging growth organizations on data acquisition and compliance. She holds a Master from McGill University on cyberespionage and is a Senior Lead Implementor for Information security management (ISO/IEC 27701:2019) as well as a Certified Data Protection Officer.
