SPSA Conference 2021 LIVE ONLINE* *Registered participants will also have access to all workshop recordings until March 15th 2021
This two session workshop will give participants a working knowledge of both comparative and within-case designs that can be used in their own research.
The first session starts with an introduction to the core tenets of case-based research, elaborating on the implications of taking complexity and context seriously. This is followed by an introduction to comparative designs in case-based research.
The second session focuses on within-case methods, in particular process-tracing case study methods. In this session, we first discuss the nature of mechanistic causal claims, after which we discuss mechanistic evidence and how it can be collected. The session concludes with an introduction to how cross-case and within-case methods can be combined in a case-based design.
During the workshop, there will be time to discuss participants' own ongoing research.
Originally set to take place in New Orleans, Louisiana, all SPSA/WSSR workshops will now take place LIVE online* from January 6th to the 9th.
Registration for the WSSR workshops is now open. Register early to take advantage of reduced conference rates. If you have already completed your registration for the SPSA meeting, but would like to add a WSSR workshop, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
