Have you ever heard the term “intersectionality” and wondered what it means? Or wondered what would it would mean for policy analysis? If so, this session is for you. It will demystify that term and explain how to apply it concretely.

Doing intersectional feminist analysis has been a key activity for feminist researcher and policy analyst Jane Stinson over the past decade. She will share what she has learned and guide you through the concept of feminist intersectionality from its inception to its current application. We will explore why the term intersectionality was developed and what that theoretical lens seeks to address. We will consider the structural underpinnings intersectional analyses can reveal and explore the policy implications.

Practically, we will unpack how to do feminist, intersectional policy analysis using quantitative and qualitative examples. Over the day, we will learn how feminist intersectional analysis can enhance policy research, analysis and recommendations.

Participants will gain a theoretical and practical understanding of feminist intersectional policy analysis through this participatory, one-day seminar.
