Tim Powers has spent many years strategizing, advising, and commenting on politics in Canada, especially from the Conservative perspective. In his workshop, he will illuminate the trajectory that the Conservative Party of Canada has taken leading to 2017 and the important events that will take place during the ongoing very high profile leadership race. An astounding number of candidates have entered the race and the platforms of each vary across the right side of the political spectrum.

By examining recent political history, reviewing political marketing and examining polling data, Powers will work with participants to figure out how the Conservatives might most effectively remodel themselves in order to increase their chances of leading Canada into the future. Canadian democracy is always changing and if the recent U.S. presidential inauguration has anything to teach us, it’s that it is full of surprises.
