Cross-National and International Free Trade and It’s Relevance for Canada’s Economic Future

Having initiated, negotiated and finalized so many key decisions that have shaped the political landscape of modern Canadian democracy, Mr. Charest brings with him a wealth of first-hand, valuable experience.

In his presentation, Charest will take participants through the many trials he faced over his term as Premier of Quebec as well as in his other roles working as an elected official in Quebec. He will explore the challenges that this province faced developing and establishing working and productive relationships with other provinces and the federal government and highlight the benefits that such relationships have created for all Canadians. Charest will also explore the additional ways in which Canadian democracy, its leaders and citizens, might work to establish greater consultation and collaboration for a stronger democracy in the future.

Participation is open to everyone, but you must register to attend.
