The Azrieli Institute of Israel Studies is proud to present a three-part movie series. The first film, Ma'abarot (84 minutes long) will be presented in Hebrew with English subtitles.

This film unveils one of the most controversial topics in the history of the Israeli state. Rare archival materials and testimonials of former residents tell the stories of the 'Ma'abarot' (refugee absorption camps meant to provide accommodation for the large influx of Jewish refugees in Israel in the 1950s).

Each film will be followed by a question and answer period with the film director, Arik Bernstein.
