Outstanding Student Leader Award

Selena Mezher is a fourth-year civil engineering student and leader in her Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science community.

Mezher’s contributions have helped create a supportive and inclusive environment at the university, promoting opportunities for women in engineering and showing unwavering commitment to positive change.

In her first year of study, Mezher became the Gina Cody School’s representative for the Concordia Student Union. After serving as vice-president of Social Affairs for the Concordia Society of Civil Engineering in 2020, she became the society’s president in 2021, and now serves as chair.

Mezher is also the vice-president ambassador of Women in Engineering, where she oversees a team of over 50 ambassadors dedicated to empowering women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields at Concordia and in the broader community.
