Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Award

Rawane Soboh is a third-year biology undergraduate student who is passionate about community service. Her first experience in bringing people together for positive change was at the age of 13 through a winter initiative to knit blankets for the homeless.

Since then, Soboh co-founded Fondation Al-Nur, which sent food baskets to vulnerable populations in the Montreal area during the pandemic while also raising money for other charities. Soboh additionally volunteers with older adults at a CHSLD, helping them feel included in their community and occasionally drawing portraits for them.

In addition to her charitable work, Soboh is a member of her Muslim Lebanese community centre, where she serves on its board, helping to organize cultural activities that instil a sense of belonging and togetherness.

Soboh is also an active member of the MedSpecs Concordia club, which provides support to students of different backgrounds on their journey towards medical school.
