Jennison Asuncion is a dedicated advocate of architecting accessible technology.

He first became interested in digital accessibility when he attended a summer program teaching blind and visually-impaired students how to use assistive technologies, such as braille displays and screen magnification software.

Asuncion joined RBC in 2006 to improve web and mobile experiences for customers and employees with disabilities. He was recruited by LinkedIn in 2013, and he is currently based in Silicon Valley as the company’s head of accessibility engineering evangelism.

In 2012, Asuncion co-founded the annual Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) to raise awareness about digital access and inclusion issues faced by the more than 1.3 billion people with disabilities worldwide. On GAAD's 10th anniversary in 2022, Asuncion co-launched the GAAD Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote accessibility being built into the product development lifecycle for technology and digital products.

As the co-director of the Adaptech Research Network at Montreal’s Dawson College since 1999, he publishes research on the impact of technology on Canadian post-secondary students with disabilities.

Born in Montreal, Asuncion graduated from Loyola High School and Dawson College, and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a Master of Arts in Educational Technology from Concordia.
