Her best study tip...

Maintain a single document with all your due-dates and tasks. For my final year I used a modified Kanban board to keep track of all my deadlines, which was crucial to provide the mental organization needed to tackle deliverables in a systematic way. University can be very overwhelming, so finding methods to break all these responsibilities down into more manageable steps goes a long way in keeping you on the right track.

Her best experience so far...

Having my family help me move into Jesuit Residence back in my first fall semester. I was overjoyed to be able to share this milestone of "growing up" with the people that I love, and it certainly made the transition into adulthood proper something much less terrifying than what I thought it would be. I feel ever so lucky to have the support system that I do.

Her favourite part about her program...

As a huge fan of video games, being able to merge creativity alongside technical expertise through my projects and assignments was a dream come true. I really appreciated that professors in the Computer Science department, particularly those teaching in the computer games path, were wholly committed to helping us grow as professionals, and that so many among them crafted their lectures to allow us to showcase our personal interests and strengths.

Luiza's next big goal

As I am currently taking my first steps into the professional world, I hope to keep my balance and establish a solid foundation for the years to come. From a software development perspective, my goal is to not only apply all the knowledge that I have acquired in my time at Concordia, but to also specialize myself further by continuing to explore my interests, such as computer graphics and artificial intelligence, and to expand my horizons by making the most out of every learning opportunity that may present itself.
