Born and raised in Montreal, Magdalina El-Masry is a graduate student in Film Studies at Concordia University’s Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema. She graduated with honours from Concordia University with a BFA in Film Studies, with a minor in political science. She is always looking for new ways to experience and write about film, with a keen interest in reexamining and remembering cultural histories. She is currently involved in organizing the Cinema In The Midst of Struggle screening series, based out of Concordia University’s Global Emergent Media Lab.
