Young people are major stakeholders in society, however many youth voices are absent from community-building processes deepening the gaps of miscommunication and contributing to community exclusion.
Dr. Blanchet-Cohen, an Assistant Professor at Concordia University’s Applied Human Science, has made it her mission to use research as a medium to support young people’s agency. She finds applying a rights-based approach to the design of services and programs, training, as well as evaluation critical to optimizing young people’s claims and authority as stakeholders.
