Dr. Pawel Gora - The Dynamical Systems group at Concordia University is interested in accepting ambitious candidates for the Ph.D. degree in Mathematics. Dynamical Systems is a relatively young (about 120 years) mathematical discipline with connections and applications to many other branches of Mathematics as well as other sciences.
The selected candidate(s) will be offered a competitive funding package which is designed to cover tuition and living expenses. The total financial package may consist of Research Assistantship Bursaries, Teaching Assistantships, and University awards such as the Concordia University Graduate Fellowship (PhD), Concordia International Tuition Award of Excellence, and additional scholarships and bursaries. Students admitted to the MSc/MA receive funding for 2 years and PhD students receive funding for up to 4 years, subject to satisfactory performance.
The main subject of research is currently absolutely continuous invariant measures for higher dimensional systems. The student will have access to research expertise of the group, which currently consists of three professors and two graduate students. The potential candidates should have strong background in analysis and serious interest in mathematics.
