Susan Delacourt

Senior Political Writer, Toronto Star


Susan Delacourt is a senior political writer with the Toronto Star and has been covering Canada’s capital since the 1980s.

She is the author of four books, including her latest, released last fall: Shopping for Votes: How Politicians Choose Us and We Choose Them.

She is a regular commentator on CTV and CBC, and was named as a fellow this year at the Clayton Riddell School of Political Management at Carleton University, where she is also serving as a part-time instructor for the winter 2014 term.

A political science graduate of Western University, Delacourt also was the recipient in 2011 of the Charles Lynch Award, an annual honour presented to a Canadian journalist in recognition of outstanding coverage of national issues, as selected by colleagues in the Canadian Parliamentary Press Gallery. Ms. Delacourt is also this year's recipient of the Hy Solomon Award in Public Policy Journalism.
