Concordia University's Department of Classics, Modern Languages and Linguistics seeks applications for a tenure-track appointment in Linguistics. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, but exceptional candidates at the Associate Professor level may also be considered. The successful applicant will specialize in Phonetics and have competence in generative linguistics theory demonstrated through both research and teaching. Research on an Indo-European language that complements the expertise of current faculty is desirable. Competence in teaching linguistic field methods is a significant advantage.

Qualifications and assets
Applicant must have a PhD in Linguistics with demonstrated teaching experience in both articulatory and acoustic Phonetics as well as the ability to teach broadly in an undergraduate linguistics program. Evidence for, or the ability to develop, a strong research program through high impact publications and a track record of externally funded projects is necessary.

The Department of Classics, Modern Languages and Linguistics is an academically diverse unit. The faculty in Linguistics pursue research in both synchronic and diachronic generative linguistics and have a very large and growing undergraduate population in both Major and Honours programs.
