Limited-term appointment positions at Concordia are full-time faculty positions of between 9.5- and 12month duration (the annual salary is pro-rated in the case of shorter contracts). The incumbent is responsible for teaching six (in the case of a 9.5 month contract) or seven three-credit courses per year, and for some administrative and other service roles within the academic unit. Up to two subsequent 12month appointments may be possible, subject to satisfactory job performance, academic unit need, and budgetary approval.
The Department of Philosophy at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, invites applications for a limited-term appointment in AOS: Logic, to teach a course in Critical Thinking (PHIL 210). AOC: Metaphysics, to teach Early Modern Philosophy: 18th century (PHIL 361) and Introduction to Epistemology (PHIL 263). We are seeking a candidate whose expertise in logic and competence in metaphysics extends into history of early modern philosophy and epistemology, who can also teach Current Research in Epistemology (PHIL 463/634). The candidate will also have one delivery of Problems of Philosophy (PHIL 201), a popular introductory course. (This position is subject to renewal and priority is given to the incumbent).
Qualifications and assets

Holding this position requires a PhD in Philosophy and sufficient evidence of being able to effectively teach the courses listed above. Experience with delivering courses both online and in-person is an asset. Evidence of teaching effectiveness is the key attribute by which qualified candidates will be ranked.
