Position description
Limited-term appointment positions at Concordia are full-time faculty positions of between 9.5- and 12month duration (the annual salary is pro-rated in the case of shorter contracts). The incumbent is responsible for teaching six (in the case of a 9.5-month contract) or seven three-credit courses per year, and for some administrative and other service roles within the academic unit. Up to two subsequent 12month appointments may be possible, subject to satisfactory job performance, academic unit need, and budgetary approval.

For the position in International Relations (23_LTA_POLI_M), we are seeking candidates with a strong teaching and research record in the areas of International Law and Politics. Preliminary course assignments for this position are as follows: Introduction to International Relations; Development of Western Legal Systems; Human Rights and International Law; and International Public Law. This position is subject to renewal and priority is given to the incumbent.
For the position in Comparative Politics (23_LTA_POLI_M2), we are seeking candidates with a strong teaching and research record in the areas of Comparative Politics and/or Comparative Public Policy. Preliminary course assignments for this position are as follows: Introduction to Comparative Politics, Public Policy and the Politics of Equality, and Comparative Social Policy. This position is subject to renewal and priority is given to the incumbent.
For the position in Public Policy and Public Administration (23_LTA_POLI_M3), we are seeking candidates with a strong teaching and research record in the areas of Public Policy and Public Administration. Preliminary course assignments for this position are as follows: Advocacy Groups and Public Policy; Government and Business in Canada; Theories of Public Policy and Public Administration; and Issues in Canadian Public Policy. This position is subject to renewal and priority is given to the incumbent.
For the position in Canadian/Quebec Politics (23_LTA_POLI_M4), we are seeking candidates with a strong teaching and research record in the areas of Canadian/Quebec Politics with the ability to teach Quantitative Research Methods. Preliminary course assignments for this position are as follows: Introduction to Canadian Politics; Canadian Political Parties; Quantitative Research Methods; and Research Methods.
For the position in Political Theory (23_LTA_POLI_M5), we are seeking candidates with a strong teaching and research record in the History of Political Thought. Preliminary course assignments for this position are as follows: Introduction to Political Theory; Hellenistic, Roman and Medieval Political Philosophy; and Media, Technology and Politics.
Qualifications and assets

Successful applicants must be qualified to teach at all levels of the undergraduate and graduate programs. A completed Ph.D. in Political Science or related discipline, or one near completion, is necessary. Evidence of teaching effectiveness is a key attribute by which qualified candidates are ranked.
