Concordia University’s Department of Classics, Modern Languages and Linguistics invites applications for a limited-term appointment in  Phonetics within a Generative Linguistics framework to begin August 1, 2020.

Position Description
This position is subject to budgetary approval and need, and is full-time, normally at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor beginning August 1, 2020 and ending May 14, 2021.  Individuals holding limited-term appointments may be granted a subsequent appointment, given continued funding and need, as well as satisfactory job performance. Together, initial appointments and subsequent appointments may not exceed 36 months or a span of three consecutive years.

Responsibilities
The successful applicant will have demonstrated competence in phonetics as well as in generative linguistic theory.  Competence in linguistic field methods and one or more additional subfields will be a plus.

Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Linguistics by contract start date and proven excellence in teaching in the relevant areas. Successful candidates for this position must also demonstrate a willingness and ability to adapt course offerings to online formats as needed.
