Concordia University’s Department of Classics, Modern Languages and Linguistics invites applications for a limited-term appointment in German Language and Culture to begin August 1, 2020.

Position Description
This position is subject to budgetary approval and need, and is full-time, normally at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor beginning August 1, 2020 and ending May 14, 2021.  Individuals holding limited-term appointments may be granted a subsequent appointment, given continued funding and need, as well as satisfactory job performance. Together, initial appointments and subsequent appointments may not exceed 36 months or a span of three consecutive years.

The successful applicant will be required to teach courses  in modern German language, literature and /or culture, and to coordinate the German language program.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in German and proven excellence in teaching. Successful candidates for this position must also demonstrate a willingness and ability to adapt course offerings to online formats as needed.
