Concordia University’s Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the Faculty of Arts and Science invites applications for a limited term appointment in General and Physical Chemistry, to begin August 1, 2020.
We are seeking candidates with commitment of undergraduate education in chemistry and biochemistry. The incumbent should have the ability to address teaching needs related to general chemistry and introductory physical chemistry. The incumbent must be willing and able to teach courses online.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the undergraduate level that include i) general chemistry which is taught to students in a broad range of science and engineering disciplines and ii) introductory physical chemistry that is predominantly taught to chemistry and biochemistry students. (S)he will also be expected to contribute to committee work and administrative service within the department.
Applicants should possess a PhD in chemistry or a related field with formal teaching experience at the University level and a strong commitment to undergraduate education. Evidence of prior teaching experience, teaching effectiveness and a commitment to diversity and inclusivity is highly sought.
