Concordia University’s Department of Classics, Modern Languages and Linguistics invites applications for a limited-term appointment in Classics with a specialization in Archaeology and Ancient History to begin August 1, 2020.

Position Description
This position is subject to budgetary approval and need, and is full-time, normally at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor beginning August 1, 2020 and ending May 14, 2021.  Individuals holding limited-term appointments may be granted a subsequent appointment, given continued funding and need, as well as satisfactory job performance. Together, initial appointments and subsequent appointments may not exceed 36 months or a span of three consecutive years.

The successful applicant will be required to teach courses in Greek and Egyptian archaeology, as well as in the history of Ancient Greece and Rome.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Classics or a related field and proven excellence in teaching. Successful candidates for this position must also demonstrate a willingness and ability to adapt course offerings to online formats as needed.
