Memorial and honorary gifts
Tribute gifts can mark many different occasions: from the celebration of a birthday, retirement or special event to the passing of a friend or a loved one, or simply as a thank-you.
Your gift can be directed to any area in the university that holds special meaning to the honouree. Whether you wish to support student financial aid, an academic department or research initiatives, these gifts enrich the educational experience of our students while serving as a testament to a friend, colleague or family member.
Establish a tribute fund or named award
You can create a tribute fund to provide financial support to a student through a named scholarship or bursary. Or donations can be designated to an area in the university that is most meaningful to you or your loved one.
Named awards may be funded annually, with a minimum commitment of three years, or through the establishment of an endowment.
My son Michael, a fourth-year Concordia honours anthropology student, passed away suddenly in 2017. To carry his spirit forward, my family and I established a scholarship in his memory, to support Concordia students studying in the Humanities and Social Sciences. We hope this award will help motivate creativity in the next generation of change-makers, while honouring Michael’s legacy.
— Marianna Foldvari, mother of Michael Foldvari, BA 18
