How to reduce your carbon footprint basic principles:
Think before you buy - do I need this?
Buy local - is it made here?
Buy in season - is this meant to be grown at this time of year?
Use active or public transport - can I get there without my car?
When making a large purchase (car, refrigerator, stove, cell phone) think if you really need to replace and if so do a little research about the best options (plug in hybrid? Full electric? Energystar? Fairphone?).
When investing your savings/money look at the ‘green’ options: CoPower, Green bonds or ESG conscious portfolios like Ishares MSCI social 400.
Avoid plastic as much as possible and reduce your meat consumption, especially read meat!
Look for green ‘certifications’ (they are not a perfect solution but they bring us closer to better practices, especially in farming)
Try to work from home at least 1 day a week.
