Industrial Engineering MEng

Master’s Programs in Industrial Engineering

The Department offers two 45-credit programs leading to MASc or MEng degrees in Industrial Engineering.

Admission Requirements

Option I. Engineering Management includes additional admission requirements to the general requirements stipulated in the  Admission section of the Master of/Magisteriate in Engineering.

  • Those applicants who are currently employed as engineers must have a minimum two years full-time relevant work experience.
  • Those applicants who are currently not employed must have a minimum of five years work experience as an engineer.
     

Requirements for the Degree

The requirements described here are in addition to the general degree requirements for the Master’s Programs in the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science

Students may choose one of the following options:

  1. Engineering Management
  2. Lean Systems Engineering 
  3. Supply Chain Engineering.
  4. Industrial Optimization and Systems Analytics
  5. Reliability and Maintenance Management

If no option is selected, students must follow the industrial engineering general stream.

Students in all options must complete 45 credits in courses. Courses must be selected as follows:

I.  Engineering Management

Industrial Stage, Project and Report (16 credits)

INDU 6992 Engineering Management Industrial Stage II

Industrial stages must be completed with a company, governmental organization or a non-government organization (NGO). Students are responsible for finding their projects. An industry supervisor is highly recommended. The course coordinator serves as the main academic supervisor.

V. Reliability and Maintenance Engineering

The reliability and maintenance option aims at training engineers and computer scientists who have a desire to explore a career in the reliability and maintenance management area. Students in this option must select their elective courses from the department most closely relevant to their undergraduate studies.
