Zero Waste Concordia Volunteering and News
Zero Waste Concordia is looking for volunteers and to keep our community in the loop! Find out how to become a volunteer or to sign up for our newsletter.
How do I sign up?
Just fill out the form to the right and we will be in touch with you! Don't want to volunteer and just want news - no problem! Just sign-up and check off that you're not interested in volunteering.
What do Zero Waste Concordia volunteers do?
- Help reduce waste at events by collecting food for donations, providing reusable dishes, setting up custom waste posters, and helping attendees sort waste
- Raise awareness about waste, water, energy, and sustainable food choices
- Conduct Waste Audits
- Help the Centre for Creative Reuse with collecting and sorting reusable items
Participants should commit to a minimum of 5 hours of volunteer time per semester. They will be required to have a fair understanding of sustainability issues and an ability to communicate them; however, training and background information will be provided to deepen this knowledge.
What do I get for volunteering?
Zero Waste campaign volunteers will earn valuable experience in results-driven behavior change campaigning. They will also be eligible for credit with the Co-curricular program. Volunteers will also get access to free waste reducing gear like reusable coffee mugs.
