External Relations

What Do We Do?

The External Relations Office is the focal point of interaction between the University and the various levels of government and other external stakeholders.

Our mandate is to:

  • develop and implement public funding strategies for the enhancement of our operational funding and to advance our priority capital projects;

  • help define and execute, both proactively and reactively, strategies regarding public policy issues which affect the University;

  • ensure regular contact between senior University representatives and elected officials, civil servants and other public interest groups in order to promote the interests of the University;

  • prepare and present policy options, briefing materials, proposals, reports and other materials for the development of strong advocacy programs;

  • liaise with sister institutions, representative organizations (AUCC, CREPUQ) and other external groups (such as the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal) on public policy issues.

We work closely with all the senior administration to further the University's strategic objectives.
