GPLD145 - Motivating and Inspiring as A Leader

Motivating and inspiring others towards professional achievement is a crucial leadership skill. This workshop is designed based on empirical research to help participants improve their leadership skills in this area. In particular, the participants will learn about motivation and how to motivate and inspire others by communicating a vision, setting goals, and providing feedback effectively.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
1. Define different sources of individual work motivations
2. Describe how to communicate a vision
3. Apply effective goal-setting techniques

Leaders Information

This workshop is led by Dilara Baysal.

Dilara Baysal is a Ph.D. Student at Concordia University's Social and Cultural Analysis program. Her current research interests include the changing forms of work and management in the context of new technologies such as automation and artificial intelligence. Previously she has worked at tech startups, consulting groups and small businesses in research, marketing and leadership roles.
