Ketra Schmitt

Sandra Chang-Kredl is an associate professor in the Department of Education and the Interim Director of the Individualized Program (INDI). She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from McGill University. Dr. Chang-Kredl’s research program intersects the areas of childhood studies, curriculum studies, media studies, and children’s popular culture. She conducts research in cultural representations of childhood and teacher memories with the purpose of enhancing the work of early childhood educators and teacher education. As well, she examines children’s media experiences from the perspective of new literacies and the impact of technological changes on children’s symbolic and social play. Her professional experience as a certified teacher and administrator in early years education informs her research and teaching.
