New! French Conversation Groups!

These sessions offers beginner to novice level speakers the opportunity to practice your French-language skills in a group setting facilitated by a French speaking professional. Conversations will explore French topics of interest to undergraduate and graduate Concordia students in Montreal.

The winter sessions are currently closed. If you are interested in participating for next Spring or Summer, please send an email:

If you are an undergraduate student, please send an email to ouicanhelp@concordia.ca and include "French Conversation Group" in the subject heading. Please send your full name, ID number as well your level of French (begineer, intermediate or advanced).

Jazz-ons!

Jazz-ons is a French-language conversation group facilitated by a fluent French speaker. Students with a limited knowledge of French are welcome to participate and practice speaking in a group setting.

This group is offered through Student Learning Services in the Counselling and Development Department.

WHAT: Jazz-ons sessions

WHEN: Monday-Friday from 3-4pm

WHERE: On the Sir George Williams Campus in the Henry F. Hall Building, Room H-662.

Les Midis francophones: "Bring your lunch and speak French!", Département d'études françaises


Students are invited to drop by and practice their French-language skills. These sessions are led by a French speaking Professional.

WHAT: Midis francophones

WHEN: Monday to Friday from noon to 1 p.m. on the Sir George Williams Campus in the Library Building, Room LB-615-5.

Please note that les Midis francophones are offered only for students registered in any French courses.

Practicing your French: by volunteering!

WHAT: Volunteering is a great way to practice French!

WHY: Giving of your time to help a local community organization has many rewards. It is a great way to meet new people, gain experience and of course, practice your language skills!

WHERE:The LIVE Centre is a service which helps Concordia students connect with volunteer opportunities.

WHEN: Drop in at the Volunteer Resource Centre at SGW H-608-1 during our office hours . A Volunteer Ambassador will be there to discuss opportunities that will help you meet your goals. Be sure to tell them you are interested in practicing French so they can point you to appropriate resources. They will also be able to explain how the process works and answer your questions.
