MIGS Professional Training Program on the Prevention of  Mass Atrocities

The Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies at Concordia University is organizing its 3rd Annual Professional Training Program on the Prevention Mass Atrocities.

Organized in cooperation with the Human Rights Research and Education Centre,this program is tailored to mid- to senior-level professionals interested in the prevention and interdiction of mass atrocity crimes.

Confirmed speakers:

  • Roméo Dallaire, Canadian humanitarian, author and retired senator and general
  • Irwin Cotler, Member of Parliament, Human Rights Lawyer and former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada
  • Shelly Whitman, Director of the Child Soldiers Initiative
  • John Packer, Director of the Human Rights Research and Education Centre
  • Paul Dewar, Member of Parliament and Official Opposition critic for foreign affairs
  • Walter Dorn, Professor of Defence Studies at the Royal Military College of Canada and the Canadian Forces College
  • Frank Chalk, Professor of History and Director of the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies (MIGS)
  • Micah Clark, Special Projects Analyst at The SecDev Group
Conferece fees are $600. Registration is limited to 50 participants.
