Muslim antisemitism has become a new and additional threat to Jewish communities in Western Europe. Antisemitism can be seen as a sign for anti-democratic and intolerant attitudes. How prevalent is Jew-hatred among Muslims? What are specific patterns and what are sources? Do we have to expect changes in the new future with the recent wave of Muslim immigrants, especially in Germany? Günther Jikeli will present data from qualitative and quantitative surveys from different European countries. Primarily results of an ongoing study with Syrian and Iraqi refugees in Germany and their views on integration, religion, Jews, Israel, and the Holocaust will also be presented.

Günther Jikeli, historian and sociologist of modern Europe, is Visiting Associate Professor and Justin M. Druck Family Scholar at the Institute for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism, Indiana University. His latest book "European Muslim Antisemitism. Why Young Urban Males Say They Don't Like Jews" was published by Indiana University Press (2015).
