Program Requirements

Cegep Students:

  • MATH 103 or 201-NYA and 105 or 201-NYC
    (minimum CRC of 70% for exemptions for MATH)
  • Micro-Economics and Macro-Economics
    (minimum 75% for exemptions for ECON)
  • Computer Literacy – courses completed will be evaluated for equivalency to DESC 200 – Fundamentals of Information Technology.

External Transfer:
External transfers are students who currently study or have studied at another university. The prerequisite courses are as follows:

  • Calculus I
  • Linear Algebra
  • Micro-Economics
  • Macro-Economics
  • Computer Literacy.

Students who achieve the minimum grades (or GPA) and complete at least one of the prerequisite courses in mathematics can be considered for admission. Applicants with strong academic records who have pursued a degree in business or who have completed business-related courses, should apply even if they do not have all of the required courses.

Prerequisite course completion for Cegep and External Transfers:
Accepted applicants who achieve the minimum grades in the courses will receive exemptions from equivalent courses at Concordia. Those who do not receive exemptions from these courses must complete them at Concordia. These courses will count for credit toward the degree requirements and should not prolong the duration of the program.

Minimum Cut-off Averages

(Minimum averages are used as indicators. They may change depending on the quality of the applicants. Admission is based on a number of criteria, including achieving minimum grade requirements overall and in mathematics.)

  • Cegep (CRC)
    Overall: 26.00; Math: 25.00
    Applicants from a three-year DEC in a business-related field are considered for admission without the specific math profile courses if they have achieved an overall CRC of 26 and achieve a minimum of 70% in the business math course(s) required for their Cegep program. It is also recommended that these applicants submit their high school transcripts with their application. If admitted, applicants will be required to complete all missing prerequisite courses as elective credits at JMSB.
  • Canadian High Schools
    Overall: 80%; Math: 80%
  • U.S. High Schools
    Overall: 3.00 CGPA (B equivalent); Math: 3.00 (B equivalent)
  • External Transfers
    Overall: 3.00 CGPA (B equivalent); Math: 3.00 (B equivalent)
  • International Bacc. (IB)
    A minimum total of 28 points as well as a grade of 5 on 7 in SL mathematics
