Admission Requirements for Community Service (Certificate)
Program Type
Limited Enrolment Program — The number of applications does not normally significantly exceed the number of places available. An entrance standard is set and admission is granted on an ongoing basis. Once capacity is reached, no more students can be admitted to the program. Departmental recommendation needed.

Additional Requirements
Students applying to this program should be interested in active involvement in an area of community service. In addition to the Admission Application to the University, each applicant is required to submit a letter of intent. This is your opportunity as a prospective student to express, in writing, why you wish to enter the Department of Applied Human Sciences.
The letter should include:
- A statement of both your long-term and short-term goals.
- Your reasons for choosing Applied Human Sciences.
- Your strengths and weaknesses as a candidate.
- The experiences you have had that led you to apply (including work and volunteer experience).
As the courses required for the Certificate must be taken in sequence, this program may not be completed on a full-time basis.

Minimum Cut-off Averages
(Minimum Cut-off Averages should be used as indicators. Data may change depending on the quality of the application pool.)
- Quebec Cegep (CRC): DEC
- Canadian High Schools: The Faculty of Arts and Science prefers students for these programs to have a 70% average and above, however, based on space availability, students below this average may still be considered. Admission is not guaranteed.
- U.S. High Schools: 2.5
- External Transfers: C
- International Bacc. (IB): 27
