Admission Requirements for Teaching of English as a Second Language
Program Type
Limited Enrolment Program — The number of applications does not normally significantly exceed the number of places available. An entrance standard is set and admission is granted on an ongoing basis. Once capacity is reached, no more students can be admitted to the program. Departmental recommendation needed.
Applicants must write an English language proficiency test and obtain a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 90 or a minimum IELTS score of 7.

Cegep Profile(s)
No particular requirements for graduates of an anglophone Cegep other than the DEC. Graduates of a francophone Cegep must hold a DEC with an advanced course in English or have an equivalent background in English.

Admission Procedure
As well as completing an online application, applicants for the TESL programs must obtain a departmental application form from the Department of Education website: doe.concordia.ca and return it completed to the Department by March 1.
