Learning English as a second language is obligatory beginning in Grade 1 in all francophone schools in Quebec, and many French speaking adults are making an effort to learn English in private language schools. Students enrolled in the BEd program spend a great deal of time observing and practising teaching in Quebec schools. Graduates are prepared to take on challenging positions as teachers, researchers and administrators.
