Communication Studies

Does the role of mass media in society intrigue you? Are you interested in the way that issues in society and culture are talked about in public? Communication Studies explores a wide range of interests in media analysis, critique and creation of media and popular culture. Central to this program is the integration of knowledge from the humanities and liberal arts, the social sciences, and media practice.

• Specialization in Communication Studies — 60 credits*
  Designed for students who want to specialize in the field. It provides training in a variety of media and an in-depth understanding of communicative processes.

• Major in Communication Studies — 42 credits*
  Designed for students who want to combine Communication Studies with a major or minor in another area.

• Major in Communication and Cultural Studies — 42 credits
  A research degree which aims to give students a broad conceptual and methodological preparation.
