May 3 and 4 - Canaire Conference on Pilgrimage: The Ecstatic Journey

Throughout the last century, pilgrimage has taken on a new life, and individuals embarking in pilgrimage paths around the world do so for many reasons.  The Loyola College for Diversity and Sustainability and the Department of Theological Studies are pleased to host a conference on Pilgrimage Studies.  This conference will host members of the academic community as they exchange their views and research on the idea of pilgrimage.  The two-day event will explore the many reasons why people embark in pilgrimage.

Keynote speaker: Dr George Greenia from William and Mary College, Williamsburg, Virginia. 

When:  Friday, May 3, 2013 from 3 to 9 p.m.; Saturday, May 4, 2013, 9 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.
