“In some ways, the social media revolution has changed nothing,” says Paul Holmes, author of the Holmes Report. “Corporate stakeholders have been demanding more transparency, greater authenticity, and improved dialogue with corporations for many years.”
“But in other ways,” he adds. “It has changed everything: companies that fail to meet these expectations are found out much more quickly and punished much more severely than they might have been four or five years ago. In this environment, companies need to understand reputation risk better and elevate reputation management. And public relations people–those traditionally charged with nurturing and protecting reputation–need to develop new skills if they are to rise to the challenge.”
Holmes will be the first lecturerer in Luc Beauregard Speaker Series.
