March 8 - Kevin Barry reads at Concordia

Acclaimed writer reads from his collection of works

Kevin Barry is returning to Concordia University to read from his collections of works as part of the Writers Read at Concordia series. This event is held in collaboration with the School of Canadian Irish Studies.

Barry is the author of the story collections Dark Lies The Island and There Are Little Kingdoms and the novel City Of Bohane. He has won the Sunday Times EFG Short Story Prize, the European Union Prize for Literature, the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature, and the Authors Club Best First Novel Award.  He has been shortlisted for the Frank O'Connor Short Story Award and the Costa First Novel Prize. His stories have appeared in the New Yorker, Best European Fiction, the Granta Book of the Irish Short Story and many other journals. He also works on screenplays, plays and graphic stories. He lives in County Sligo.
