Feb. 26 - Drumming and Healing workshop

Concordia students and staff are invited to explore the healing rhythms of Native American hand drumming

The beat of the drum resonates with the human heartbeat, and as such, can get us in touch with our inner selves.

Cree Elder Morning Star, from the Aboriginal Student Resource Centre, will help take us there as she shares some of her people’s sacred teachings and rhythms. This unique drumming experience will include a prayer-song, a short meditation, in addition to drumming as a group.

Open to the Concordia community, everyone is welcome to come relax and explore this tradition in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

This workshop is part of a series of drumming-as-spiritual-practice workshops that will be offered throughout the winter term by Multi-faith Chaplaincy.

Registration is required as space is limited. For more info or to sign up, contact laura.gallo@concordia.ca

Where:  Multi-faith Chaplaincy, Room Z-05, Annex Z (2090 Mackay), Sir George Williams Campus
