Nov. 20 and 21 - Active Supervision course for Concordia managers

Two-day course for managers is core for the Leadership Portfolio

As part of the Learning and Development Calendar, the Active Supervision course examines the principles of supervision in order to develop the essential skills and key competencies in management-related roles.

Key elements of the seminar include:

  • Supervision
  • Delegation
  • SMART objectives
  • Planning
  • ‘’Plan-Do-Check-Act’’

This course includes supervision theory, as well as indispensable, practical tools necessary for effective supervision of employees on a daily basis. It is recommended as a prerequisite for all other courses offered within the Leadership Portfolio.

When:  Tuesday, November 20, and Wednesday, November 21, 2012, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Where:  1145 Union Ave. (corner of René-Lévesque Boulevard West)

Refreshments will be served throughout the day, as will a hot lunch.
 
While the course is offered at no cost to the manager, a cancellation provision may apply. Space is limited to 18 managers. These courses are specifically designed for administrative employees of the university. Other similar courses, designed for department chairs, college principals, associate deans, associate university librarians, supervisory librarians and program directors, are or may be offered by the Centre for Academic Leadership.
