Feb. 9 - Industry internships for graduate students

Connect Canada information session on research placements and paid internships

Connect Canada is an internship program that links Canadian companies with graduate students and post-doctoral fellows for research placements in all industry sectors across Canada. Paid research and development internships are a great way to enhance graduate research and theses, as well as establish contacts and gain first-hand experience in the working world.

Regardless of the issue, the sector or the location, Connect Canada internships provide companies with cost-effective solutions developed by highly skilled graduate students under the supervision of an academic supervisor. Benefits of the program include:

  • a pathway to further develop research skills, while gaining valuable industry experience and contacts for both the intern and the academic supervisor.
  • funding administered through the academic supervisor’s research funding account, and stackable with other sources of funding.
  • opportunity to perform leading-edge research in the following categories: natural science, engineering, economy, social science, health, environment and ethics.
  • the $10,000 intern stipend is funded equally by industry partners with matching funds from Connect Canada.

Where: Room FG-070, Faubourg Building (1616 Ste-Catherine St. W.), Sir George Williams Campus
